"Before joining Team Advocate, I worked long hours in bars and restaurants while pursuing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan. Balancing 60+ hour workweeks with 3 to 5 college courses at a time became my norm. It was demanding, and while I was proud of my work ethic, I knew I wanted something more sustainable and fulfilling.
Joining Advocate marked a major turning point in my life, both professionally and personally. I’ve been able to accomplish things that simply weren’t possible in my previous industry. It’s a harmless term, but in that moment, it reminded me how much my perspective on work had changed. After less than a year at Advocate, the idea of work as ‘just a shift’ had all but disappeared from my mindset.

"I worked as a union industrial painter before kicking off my career at Advocate. While that job provided a solid foundation, I was looking for more growth opportunities. That’s what ultimately led me to make the leap to Advocate, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

"Before joining Advocate Construction, I worked at an asphalt plant that supplies raw materials to shingle companies. The demanding DuPont schedule was not sustainable for the family lifestyle I wanted. Since becoming a Field Supervisor at Advocate, I’ve finally found the work-life balance I was missing, while also experiencing tremendous personal and professional growth.
One of my most memorable experiences here was the referral trip to Puerto Rico. It’s incredible to be able to help people in my life land a job at a company I believe in, and then see both of us rewarded with something as amazing as a trip. "Before Advocate, I spent 9 years as a medical assistant in a doctor’s office. I enjoyed my work, but I was ready for more.

"Before joining Team Advocate, I was blasting and painting rail cars and woodchipping trucks. After a while, it just got... kind of routine. I wanted something more! More challenge, more growth, more me. I come from a long line of incredible, dedicated factory workers, and seeing firsthand the toll it can take made me determined to forge a different path.

"Before joining Advocate Construction, I worked for a company focused on helping financial institutions implement technology that enhances both accuracy and customer experience. My primary responsibilities included maintenance and sales for bank cash dispensers.
