Meet Some Of Our Heroes

“Advocate Construction is the best career choice I could have ever made. The impact of this job on my life has been immense – the pay has truly changed my life, providing me with a sense of security and allowing me to provide better for my family. Moreover, the flexibility of the hours has given me the precious gift of spending more quality time with my loved ones. With my background in the US Army and strong leadership skills, I have found that I’ve been able to achieve career progression more swiftly, and that has been both rewarding and fulfilling. I feel fortunate to be in a position that not only challenges me professionally but also aligns with my personal values and priorities.”

Sadiol Destani: Sales Superstar

“I definitely love being here as it is a direct representation of the team cohesion I had in my unit. The staff is extremely supportive and I am thrilled to be a part of this team of winners!”

Jason Loomis: Sales Manager

“Working at Advocate Construction allows me to continue to serve homeowners by helping them maintain their properties’ roofs, sidings, and gutters; while enjoying the great culture and a sense of camaraderie in a workplace. Hold the door!!!”

Ralph Felix: Field Supervisor

“Advocate Construction has been the closest feeling to the tight-knit group I had in the military. Every day is a new adventure and the confidence the military gave me truly helps me excel at this company. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about both your personal and professional development, look no further because you’ve found it!”

Alex Vestal: Field Supervisor

“After dedicating nine incredible years to serving in the US Army, including four deployments, and three combat tours, I’ve taken on a new role as the Director of Safety at Advocate Construction. My time in the military taught me so much—discipline, leadership, and above all, a deep commitment to keeping others safe. These are skills that I’ve been able to seamlessly transition into my new role here at Advocate Construction. At Advocate, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s at the very core of everything we do. Drawing from my experiences in the Army, I’m committed to upholding the highest standards of safety excellence. We are building a culture of safety awareness, teamwork, and constant improvement. Together, we’ll continue to make our workplaces and communities safer and stronger.”

Chris Harrison: Safety Manager

“5 years in the Marine Corps. Sergeant in 3.5 years. Left as the NCOIC of an aviation work center of 62 Marines. H53 helicopter was our baby. The most influential leader in my life, GySgt Higginbotham, taught me to lead. He put tape lines at the 2 doors and constrained me. I had to ask him for permission to cross. I had to learn to get work done through others. What are their strengths and abilities? What are their drivers? How do I lead according to those variables so we get production, quality, on-time, and engagement? I learned. Those lessons persist today. I let go of the “harder” pieces like blood stripes and “pinning” rank and insignia on. Semper Fi.

Why AC? Good question. I told my wife AC was the most like the USMC of any culture I’ve been part of. The thick skin, hustle, energy in culture, shared grit and toughness, courage. Add in a secure leader who really cares, a CEO open to feedback, the chance to build and drive change, ambition to grow, and a culture that values who I am and the lessons big business taught me, I couldn’t stay away. Had to say yes. Let’s grow!”

Rob McGraw: Director of Talent Management

“Did 6 years in the Army in an Engineer Battalion as a welder and machinist although a lot of tasks done were more mechanical related. After my service and consequently completing undergrad, I aspired to make a career transition from manufacturing to construction, and Advocate Construction provided that avenue for me to explore the industry and find my footing. Working with an equally diverse and very cohesive team makes my overall experience here at Advocate Construction a rather fulfilling one.”

Emmanuel Bannerman-Blankson: Construction Manager

“The transition from military to civilian life was a constant overwhelming worry. From managing the production of tens of thousands of maintenance hours on aircraft to working for Advocate Construction, I couldn’t have picked a better route. I am able to apply my skills and work ethic to this job with the support system I was worried I would be missing. Advocate Construction gives me the tools and structure to be successful in every endeavor. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to work here and for the team that pushes me to be the best version of myself every day. There’s always more. And I’m here to get it. Thank you, Advocate Construction.”

Michael Scurlock: Sales Superstar

“I served in the United States Army for six years as a 68 Delta. 68 Delta is an operating room specialist to which I was on a brain and back team and we performed neurosurgery. In the army, you learn a lot of values such as discipline, integrity, and individual responsibility. All those can be applied here at Advocate Construction as well. Here at Advocate Construction, I have found the camaraderie that I had in the military that I have not found anywhere else. If you’re looking for a challenging, but very rewarding position, Advocate Construction is no doubt the place for you.”

Joseph Benson: Assistant Manager
